American Association of School Administrators Visits Malta
Between October 30 and November 5, members of the American Association of School Administrators will be in Malta to meet with local education officials. Prior to their arrival in Malta, the members of the Association were in Sicily to participate in the 36th Invitational International Seminar on Schooling (IISS) which is sponsored by the American Association of School Administrators (AASA.org) and the University of Texas Cooperative Superintendency Program (CSP). The purpose of this study seminar is to bring together senior policy makers and distinguished educational leaders from across North America to discuss policies and issues that affect national/primary schooling worldwide. The IISS has enabled and enhanced collaboration efforts between and among educational organizations across the globe and has offered the opportunity for constructive dialogue on important issues affecting education and society.
During their visit to Malta the AASA delegates will visit a number of schools and meet with officials from the University of Malta and MCAST. U.S. Ambassador Douglas Kmiec, who is committed to facilitating comparative religion curricula as a means to encourage understanding between faiths, will host a reception at his residence during which the AASA delegates will have the opportunity to engage in discussions with local counterparts in education and with representatives of the different faiths present in Malta.
