The Consular Section is open to American citizens on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and for visa services on Wednesdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 am. except on Maltese and American public holidays.

Visa applicants who have an urgent need to travel to the United States before the next available visa interview date may contact the Consular Section by sending an e-mail to ConsularMalta@state.gov to request an emergency appointment.  Please include a phone number and an explanation of both the urgent nature of the travel in your request.

The Consular Section will determine whether your request warrants an emergency appointment.  Please note that issued visas for applicants granted an emergency appointment will be returned a minimum of 1-2 business days after the visa interview; no visa can be issued the same day as the interview.
